Abstract
The sandfly Lutzomyia ovallesi (Diptera: Psychodidae) from a focus of Leishmania braziliensisin Reventones, Cundinamarca, central Colombia, was reared and mantained for fourteen generations under laboratory conditions with daily temperature between 22-28 ""C and relative humidity between 90 and 98%. Males and females after emergente were kept in clean rearing containers within a poliestirene cage. Life cycle for individual rearing at each stage was as follows: egg, 9-12 days (i<=10.42, sd=0.86); first stage larva, 7-1 1 days (X=9.8, sd=3.06); second stage larva 7-1 3 days (X=9.5, ~d~3.06); third stage larva 4-12 days (X=7.4, sd=1.5); fourth stage, 9-19 days (i<= 15.16, sd=2.6); pupa, 8-1 6 days (X=11, sd=1.89). The average time for total development was 63.36 The sandfly Lutzomyia ovallesi (Diptera: Psychodidae) from a focus of Leishmania braziliensisin Reventones, Cundinamarca, central Colombia, was reared and mantained for fourteen generations under laboratory conditions with daily temperature between 22-28 ""C and relative humidity between 90 and 98%.
